Plains & Mountains
Introduction
A 2 hour drive west of Windhoek, this farm lies in the arid savanna close to the edge of the Namib Desert. This area has a beautiful diversity of wide open plains, savanna, mountains and valleys. With concessions in different areas, hunting is conducted on 250 000 acres (100 000 ha), where an abundance of wildlife still roams free. On this land, game is guarded carefully and utilized on a sustainable basis. The goal is to protect wildlife for your benefit and for future generations.
Hunting is done under the personal guidance of your professional hunter with 30 years experience. He is a member of NAPHA, SCI Life Member and SCI Master Measurer. You will also be accompanied by trained trackers and skinners, as well as hunting dogs to ensure no wounded animals are lost.
To make your safari a true nature experience, 7 to 14 days is advisable. A hunting day typically starts by leaving the lodge at dawn and returning at dusk. Hunting is done by driving in hunting vehicles until animals or fresh "spoor" (game tracks) are found. These are then followed on foot. Hunting is also done by stalking or from blinds depending on the hunter's wishes or the species of African game being pursued. For those who like to hunt on foot in the mountains, this is an ideal place for stalk hunting. Trophies are field dressed, cleaned and prepared, and sent to a taxidermist of the client's choice or a forwarding agent for shipping.
